¿ANNE RICE, POR QUE?
Okay, so I was looking on Amazon at one of Anne Rice's newer books and trying to decide if this was something I wanted to read or if she just writes crap like Memnoch the Devil now, and I clicked on her bibliography to see if there was anything else that might interest me. I scroll down through her books and something immediately catches my eye: a Spanish version of "Lestat el Vampiro."
NOTICE ANYTHING A LITTLE FAMILIAR ABOUT THE COVER???

HMM? WHAT IF I SHOWED YOU THIS, NOW?

This angers me quite a bit. During the entire Twilight-fad I've been thinking "God, if I was Anne Rice, I'd be fucking slitting my wrists! How come no one wants to read her masterpiece vampire series yet is enthralled with this crap?
I don't know why it's only the Spanish versions of Las Cronicas Vampiras so far (do Mexicans really like Twilight, too?) but I have a sneaking suspicion that I'm going to see an English version of the Anne Rice series I really loved all decked out to look like they were the lost Twilight books.
There are other covers like this, by the way...

Entrevista con El Vampiro...
And, the one that happens to be my favorite book of the series....

La Reina de Los Condenados.
I think maybe if I say the names in Spanish I can trick myself into thinking these aren't the same books. This is so goddamn lame.
